"Plan B" Goals

August 22, 2001: REASONABLE OBJECTIVES FOR MANZANITA AVENUE by the PARK

1. All of the specimen trees along Manzanita Avenue shall be saved. 

2. The new construction shall not take excessive areas from Bidwell Park. 

3. The new construction shall not take excessive areas from the private property. 

4. Develop and adopt “scenic design standards” as required by the General Plan. 

5. Comply with the dictates of the General Plan for a two (2) lane roadway. 

6. Provide designs for traffic flow volume accommodating the 2020 target year. 

7. Provide for traffic movement at 35 mph without stops throughout the project area. 

8. Provide a “Traffic Rotary” at the intersection of Hooker Oak and Manzanita Ave. 

9. Provide one leg of the Hooker Oak “Traffic Rotary” as the primary entrance to the Hooker Oak Recreation Area. 

10. Redesign the Hooker Oak Recreation Area parking facilities accordingly. 

11. Provide a “Traffic Rotary” at the intersection of Vallombrosa and Manzanita Ave. 

12. Provide a Bike Lane on the Bidwell Park side of the proposed roadway. 

13. Extend the existing Bike Path to the proposed Bike Path in the Recreation Area. 

14. Provide a Bike Lane on the homes side of the proposed roadway.

15. Provide for occasional parking in front of the existing homes.

16. Provide equestrian “call button” signal at the Vallombrosa Traffic Rotary.

17. Provide signage for right turn only at the existing Hooker Oak Park entrance.
