Chico-Redding DMA Local Digital TV Broadcasts

*Various 'translators' exist on other channel numbers that serve various specific local areas - see the station for details. While many analog translators exist today, we believe that there are currently no translators for digital broadcasts in our area.

"Digital TV Broadcast" does not necessarily mean "High Definition Television".

As of this writing we believe that there only a few hours per day of High Definition broadcasts occurring in our area. However, even 'standard definition' digital broadcasts can outperform analog broadcast picture quality..

While Digital TV Broadcast signals may be available in your area, there are other things that you would typically need before you can enjoy the benefits of these Digital TV Broadcasts:

1) Suitable Display Device. Such as a Digital Television.

2) Terrestrial Broadcast Digital TV Receiver. This capability is built into many High Definition Satellite Receivers. Some Digital Televisions have this capability. 

3) Terrestrial Broadcast Antenna suitable for the signal available in your area - properly connected to your receiver. Unfortunately the needs in this area vary widely by the area and the antenna mounting location. There is no one simple answer to the question "What do I need?"

4) Sufficient signal quantity and signal quality available at your receiving antenna.
